My mom told me when I was younger, "It doesn't matter if I believe it, or the next-door neighbor believes it. As long as you believe it, you will find a way to make it happen." Unfortunately, I didn't think I would have to believe it under these circumstances. Truth be told, I'm a wonderful writer, but I have a tendency to allow word vomit to happen and I try to write a whole book in one sitting. I've had to learn to be kind to myself during this trying time and allow myself to grieve the loss of my sweet baby.
I wanted to properly introduce myself and others that you will read about during these blogs. My name is Ashton, I've been married for 6 years, but we've been together since high school. My wife's name is Randi, and we are just an ordinary couple. No magic happening here! I work in the tooling industry and Randi works in customer service. In our spare time, I like to do woodworking and Randi loves to bake. We have no children of our own yet, but as for now, we do have fur babies. We are dachshund lovers and have been pretty much our whole lives! Dachshunds are quite the character but have the ability to steal your heart. Maverick is 12 and is a shaded English cream dachshund and is totally a mama's boy. Carmella is 8 and is a shaded rust dachshund and is undecided between grams and pops. Carmella is also the daughter to Maverick and our late, sweet Ellanoir. We also have 2 cats. Aslan who is a tabby, but very stocky boy. Then there is Apollo who is black and white; very petite and skittish. They are nearing 7 and are super sweet. Let me also add, they are brothers.
We both were born and raised in North Carolina, but for a short period, we migrated to Florida to enjoy all of the tourists, traffic, road construction, and costly living expenses. I assume you know the reasoning for us fleeing back to our home state! A goal of ours is to one day ditch the 9 to 5 atmosphere and be our own boss. We're so supportive of each other in our dreams. Whoever said opposites attract were definitely right! In 15 years of being together, we have traveled, been with, been without, but always had our little fur family by our side.
I know the introduction can be a little flat lined, but I want to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to hear Ellanoir's story and the impact we want to make in her memory to help others. Until next time, take care. Don't forget to subscribe and check out the website. There are many ideas we have and hope you'll be part of a community.
